Roof Inspections and Certifications

Our knowledgeable and experienced roof inspectors will perform a thorough visual inspection and analysis of your roof to determine its condition. We provide our clients with and explain our findings and recommendations, taking time to answer all questions. Some of the factors we consider include the age of the roof and any damage or problems that may be a factor in your roofs performance.

We document the condition of the roof in writing and with digital photography. We also identify the location of problem areas on drawings or plans to further explain the condition of the roof and our findings.

Our Inspection Report and Roofing Certifications detail the overall condition of the roof, approximate length of life of the roof, recommendations for repair or replacement of the existing roof.

We look for a variety of problems including the following:

  • Age and history of roof problems and repairs
  • Water leaks or damage
  • Storm and wind damage
  • Damage by service or maintenance activities on equipment (air conditioning, heating or solar systems)
  • Roof penetrations
  • Poor or inadequate drainage
  • Sagging and structural defects

Choosing a Roofing Company

Whether repairing or replacing a roof it’s important to choose a reputable roofing contractor who will provide you with professional experienced service.

Protect your investment by following these tips for choosing a contractor.

  • Ask for proof of a valid state contractor’s license, business license, and tax identification number
  • Proof of liability insurance and Worker’s Compensation insurance
  • Ask how long they have been in business. It’s important to know the contractor will be around for warranty purposes.
  • Check for a permanent place of business and telephone number
  • Ask for a list of references and addresses of projects they have completed
  • Call the local Better Business Bureau to check for any complaints
  • Insist on a detailed, written proposal and contract that describes the work that will be performed including starting and end dates and payment procedures. Never hire a contractor who asks for half or more of the payment up front.
  • Be wary of the lowest bid. Contractors who bid low are probably cutting corners or may not be properly insured. If it’s too good to be true, it probably is.
